Jectamox™

An antiparasitic remedy indicated for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle and sheep and with residual activity against certain important roundworms of cattle and sheep as well as blue ticks in cattle.

INDICATIONS
An antiparasitic remedy indicated for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle and sheep and with residual activity against certain important roundworms of cattle and sheep as well as blue ticks in cattle.

COMPOSITION
Each 100 mℓ contains: moxidectin 1,0 g.

CAUTION

STORAGE

  • Store in a cool, dry place below 25 ˚C.
  • Protect from light.
  • Jectamox™ is stable for 2 years if stored under normal conditions.
  • The product can be used for 1 month after first broaching the container.

WARNINGS

  • Withdrawal period: 42 days for meat and offal.
  • Not to be used in animals producing milk for human consumption. 
  • May be toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with product or used containers.
  • Transitory discomfort may be observed in some animals following subcutaneous injection. These reactions will disappear without treatment.
  • Dispose of empty containers according to local waste disposal regulations and do not reuse for any other purpose.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
  • Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder. 

PRECAUTIONS
Special precautions for use in the target species

  • DO NOT ADMINISTER INTRAVENOUSLY OR INTRAMUSCULARLY.
  • Use sterile equipment and follow aseptic procedures. 
  • Cattle should be vaccinated against black quarter and sheep against black quarter and pulpy kidney disease before treatment with Jectamox™ 
  • Do not inject more than 15 mℓ/injection site. 
  • Dispose of any drug containers and residual contents in accordance with the local waste disposal regulations.

Special precautions for the person administering this remedy

  • Do not mix with any other stock remedies or veterinary medicines before administration.
  • Do not reuse empty bottles.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after use.
  • Take care to avoid self-injection. If this occurs, it is unlikely that any symptoms will be observed but consult your doctor.

Advice to Medical Practitioners
Treat any specific signs of self-injection symptomatically.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
Special instructions for route of administration
Jectamox™ may be administered with any standard automatic or single dose equipment.
For subcutaneous injection only.

Cattle
Inject under loose skin in front of, or behind the shoulder.
Use an 18-gauge, 20 mm needle.
Do not inject more than 15 mℓ/injection site. This will apply to animals heavier than 750kg.

Sheep
Inject under the loose skin behind the shoulder, under the foreleg or on the inside of the thigh.
Use an 18 to 21-gauge needle.
Ensure that the needle is inserted carefully, and that the product does not leak from the injection site.
In woolled sheep, ensure that the needle has penetrated the skin before delivering the dose.

Dosage
The dose is 0,1 mℓ JectamoxTM/5 kg (1 mℓ/50 kg) body mass as a single injection
(equivalent to 200 µg moxidectin/kg body mass).

VERSIGTIG

BERGING

  • Berg in ‘n koel droë plek onder 25 ˚C.
  • Beskerm teen lig.
  • JectamoxTM is stabiel vir 2 jaar as dit onder die aanbevole toestande gestoor word.
  • Die produk kan gebruik word vir 1 maand na oopmaak van die houer.

WAARSKUWINGS

  • Onttrekkingsperiode: 42 dae vir vleis en afval.
  • Nie vir gebruik in diere wat melk produseer vir menslike verbruik nie.
  • Mag giftig vir waterorganismes wees. Moenie strome, riviere of waterweë besoedel met die produk of gebruikte houers nie.
  • Tydelike pyn mag in sommige diere waargeneem word na onderhuidse inspuiting. Hierdie ongemak sal verdwyn sonder behandeling.
  • Doen weg met leë houers volgens plaaslike afvalbestuursregulasies en moenie hergebruik vir enige ander doeleindes nie.
  • HOU BUITE BEREIK VAN KINDERS, ONINGELIGTE PERSONE EN DIERE
  • Alhoewel hierdie produk breedvoerig onder ‘n wye verskeidenheid toestande getoets is, mag dit faal as gevolg van verskeie redes. Indien dit vermoed word, raadpleeg ‘n veearts en verwittig die registrasiehouer.

VOORSORGMAATREëLS
Spesiale voorsorgmaatreëls vir gebruik in die teikenspesies

  • MOENIE BINNEAARS OF BINNESPIERS TOEDIEN NIE.
  • Gebruik steriele toedieningstoerusting en volg aseptiese prosedures.
  • Inenting van beeste teen sponssiekte en skape teen sponssiekte en bloednier word sterk aanbeveel voor behandeling met JectamoxTM.
  • Moenie meer as 15 mℓ/inspuitingsplek toedien nie.
  • Vernietig enige houers en oorblywende inhoud in ooreenstemming met die plaaslike afvalbestuursregulasies.

Spesiale voorsorgmaatreëls vir die persoon wat die middel toedien

  • Moenie met enige ander veemiddel of veterinêre medisyne meng voor toediening nie.
  • Moenie leë bottels hergebruik nie.
  • Moenie eet, drink of rook gedurende hantering van die produk nie.
  • Was hande deeglik na gebruik.
  • Wees versigtig om selfinspuiting te vermy. As dit gebeur, is dit onwaarskynlik dat enige simptome waargeneem sal word, maar raadpleeg jou mediese dokter.

Advies aan Mediese Praktisyn
Behandel enige spesifieke tekens van selfinspuiting simptomaties.

Spesiale aanwysings vir toedieningsroete
JectamoxTM mag toegedien word met enige standaard outomatiese of enkeldosis-toerusting.
Slegs vir onderhuidse inspuiting.

Beeste
Spuit beeste onder die los vel voor of agter die skouer.
Gebruik ‘n 18-maat, 20 mm naald.
Moenie meer as 15 mℓ/inspuitingsplek toedien nie. Hierdie is van toepassing in diere swaarder as 750 kg.

Skape
Spuit onder die vel agter die skouer, onder die voorpoot of aan die binnekant van die bobeen.
Gebruik ‘n 18 tot 21-maat naald.
Maak seker dat die naald versigtig ingesteek word om te verseker dat geen lekkasie van die middel uit die plek van inspuiting gebeur nie.
In wolskape, maak seker dat die naald die vel gepenetreer het voor toediening van die dosis.

Dosis
Die dosis is 0,1 mℓ JectamoxTM/5 kg (1 mℓ/50 kg) liggaamsmassa as ’n enkele inspuiting (gelykstaande aan 200 µg moksidektien/kg) liggaamsmassa. Die volgende tabel mag as ‘n doseringsgids gebruik word;
