INDICATIONS

• For the control of ticks on cattle.
• For the treatment and control of ticks on ostriches.
• For the treatment and control of mange mites and lice on goats.
• Kills lice and mange mites on cattle.
• For the treatment and control of sheep scab mites (Psoroptes ovis), itch mites, sheep lice (Bovicola ovis) and keds.

COMPOSITION
Contains: Amitraz 12,5 % m/v.

STORAGE

• Store in a cool dry place.
• Protect product from extreme heat and cold and from dampness.

HARMFUL

WARNINGS

• Do not dip tired or thirsty animals.
• Do not treat animals suffering from heat stress.
• Do not use on horses.
• Mild transient sedation may occur. Recovery is spontaneous.
• KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
• Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS

• Wear rubber gloves, boots and a waterproof coat when mixing the dip and when handling animals that have just been treated.
• Avoid contact with dip and wash immediately and thoroughly with soap and hot water after accidental contamination.
• Wash all protective clothing thoroughly after use, especially the inside of gloves.
• Tightly reseal the container if all the contents have not been used.
• Destroy empty containers and unused dip as per local waste disposal regulations an do not reuse for any other purpose.

GUIDE TO DOCTOR
Amitraz is NOT an organophosphorous compound. If poisoning is suspected treatment should be symptomatic and supportive, paying particular attention to monitoring of respiratory and cardiac function. However, recovery is normally spontaneous. Do NOT use Atropine. Do NOT induce vomiting.

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Studies reveal no adverse effects.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% should not be mixed with any other dip.
Note:
Start with fresh dip at each day’s dipping/spraying.
Empty plunge dips and sumps at completion of each day’s dipping.

CATTLE

i. TICKS
Application – Only for use by spraying (hand spraying or spray races).
Initial dilution rate – 1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5%  per 500 ℓ water. Pre-mix the required amount of Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% with a suitable amount of water in a container. Once mixed thoroughly, add to the measured bulk water in the spray sump and stir thoroughly.
Replenishment – It is recommended that not more than 500 head of cattle be sprayed in the spray race at one time, especially where fouling is a problem. If however, this figure is exceeded, boosting at a rate of 100 mℓ of Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 100 head, commencing at 500 head, can be undertaken to maintain a satisfactory deposit of active ingredient especially where tick-borne diseases are a problem.
Intensive tick control is provided by use as directed at weekly intervals.
All animals should be treated and interruption of the programme should be avoided as they will then, if not vaccinated, be susceptible to various tick-borne diseases.
Under circumstances of low tick challenge, it may be used, at the user’s discretion, at intervals greater than 7 days. In these circumstances, users are advised to make use of relevant vaccines to obtain optimal protection of their cattle against prevalent tick-borne diseases.

ii. MANGE
Application, initial dilution rate and replenishment -See directions for use for ticks.
For effective control, spray weekly.

iii. LICE
Application, initial dilution rate and replenishment – See directions for use for ticks.
For effective control, spray twice, with a 7 day interval.

SHEEP

i.  SHEEP SCAB MITES

• Note: When treating an outbreak of sheep scab mite it is essential that:
• All sheep on farm are correctly treated and marked after treatment.
• All animals must be checked 7 to 10 days after treatment and any animals not marked must be treated.
• Sheep scab is a notifiable disease, contact the State Veterinarian.

Application – For plunge dips and continuous replenishment showers only.
Initial dilution rate – 1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 250 ℓ of water.
Topping up – As this dip wash does strip, top up after dip or sump falls by 20 % of the initial volume. Replenish at 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5%  per 250 ℓ of water added.
Dip the animal long enough to ensure that the animal is properly soaked and that its head was submerged at least 3 times.
Only a once off treatment is necessary for the treatment of sheep scab mites.

ii.  SHEEP LICE, ITCH MITES AND KEDS

Note:
For effective control of lice in an infested flock, all sheep on the property must be treated.
Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% can be used 60 days prior to shearing as it has a degradation time of 35 to 45 days after which wool residues will no longer be a concern.
Application – For plunge dips and continuous replenishment showers only.
Initial dilution rate – 1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ of water.
Topping up – As this dip wash does strip, top up after dip or sump falls by 25 % of the initial volume. Replenish at 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5%  per 500 ℓ of water added.
Two dippings, 14 days apart, are necessary for the treatment of lice on sheep, itch mites and keds.
Prevention of lumpy wool: 
Add 1 kg zinc sulphate crystals to 400 ℓ dipwash.

OSTRICHES
Application – Spray formulation.
Dilution rate – 1 part Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% in 1 000 parts of water (see table).

Spray birds until run off. Use at least 5 ℓ of the prepared dip per bird.

GOATS

i.  GOAT MANGE MITES
Application – For plunge dips and continuous replenishment showers only.
Initial dilution rate – 1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 250 ℓ water.
Topping up – As this dip wash does strip, top up after dip or sump falls by 20 % of the initial volume. Replenish at 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 250 ℓ of water added.
Only a once off treatment is necessary for the treatment of goat mange mites.

ii.  GOAT LICE
Application -For plunge dips and continuous replenishment showers only.
Initial dilution rate –1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ water.
Topping up – As this dip wash does strip, top up after dip or sump falls by 25 % of the initial volume. Replenish at 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ of water added.
Two dippings, 14 days apart, are necessary for the treatment of lice on goats.

iii. For the eradication and control of Red Lice on goats, Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% can be used       simultaneously (in dip tank mixing) with Fleececare^® (G1743 Act 36/1947, Namibia V93/18.3.8/515 NS0) as a once off treatment. The following dilution table must be used:

SKADELIK

WAARSKUWINGS

• Moenie diere wat moeg of dors is dip nie.
• Moenie op diere wat aan hittestres ly gebruik nie.
• Moenie op perde gebruik nie.
• Ligte verbygaande slaperigheid mag onstaan. Diere sal self herstel.
• HOU BUITE BEREIK VAN KINDERS, ONINGELIGTE PERSONE EN DIERE.
• Alhoewel hierdie middel breedvoerig onder ‘n wye verskeidenheid toestande getoets is, mag dit faal as gevolg van verskeie redes. Indien dit vermoed word, raadpleeg ‘n veearts en verwittig die registrasiehouer.

VOORSORGMAATREëLS

• Gebruik rubber handskoene, stewels en ’n waterdigte jas as die dip gemeng word, en as diere wat alreeds behandel is gehanteer word.
• Vermy aanraking met dipmiddel en was onmiddellik met seep en warm water na toevallige kontaminasie.
• Was alle beskermende klere en die binnekant van die handskoene deeglik na gebruik.
• Herseël die houer deeglik indien die inhoud nie alles opgebruik word nie.
• Vernietig leë houers en ongebruikte mengsel volgens plaaslike afvalbestuursregulasies en moenie vir enige ander doeleinde gebruik nie.

VIR DIE DOKTER
Amitras is NIE ’n organofosfaatverbinding nie. Indien vergiftiging vermoed word, moet simptomatiese en ondersteunende behandeling toegepas word. Monitor hart- en respiratoriesefunksie. Pasiënte herstel gewoonlik spontaan. Moet NIE atropien gebruik nie. Moet NIE braking indusseer nie.

AANWENDING TYDENS DRAGTIGHEID EN LAKTASIE
Studies toon geen newe-effekte nie.

GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS – GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI

Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% moenie met ander dipmiddels gemeng word nie.
Nota:
Dipmengsel moet vars aangemaak word vir elke dag se dip-/spuitproses.
Elke dompeldip en sinkput moet leeggemaak word na voltooiing van die dag se dipproses en doen weg volgens plaaslike afvalbestuursregulasies.

BEESTE

i. BOSLUISE
Aanwending -Slegs vir gebruik as ’n spuitbehandeling (handbespuiting of spuitgange).
Aanvanklike verdunning -1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ water. Voeg die nodige hoeveelheid Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% by genoeg water in ’n geskikte houer. Wanneer dit goed gemeng is, voeg by afgemete hoeveelheid water in opvangput van spuitgang en roer deeglik.
Aanvulling -Dit word aanbeveel dat nie meer as 500 beeste in die spuitgang op ‘n keer bespuit word nie, veral waar besoedeling ’n probleem is. Indien meer as 500 beeste behandel moet word, voeg 100 mℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% by vir elke 100 beeste sodra 500 beeste oorskry word om ’n doeltreffende neerslag van aktiewe bestanddeel op elke bees te verseker, veral waar bosluisoorgedraagde siektes ’n probleem is.
Intensiewe bosluisbeheer word verkry indien gebruik soos aangedui met weeklikse tussenposes.
Die hele trop behoort behandel te word en onderbreking van die program moet vermy word aangesien hulle vir verskeie bosluisgedraagde siektes vatbaar sal wees tensy hulle geënt is.
Waar daar ’n lae bosluisbesmetting voorkom, kan die produk na goeddunke van die gebruiker, met tussenposes van langer as 7 dae gebruik word. Onder hierdie omstandighede word die gebruiker aangeraai om toepaslike entstowwe toe te dien om sodoende optimale beskerming vir hulle vee teen heersende bosluissiektes te bekom.

ii. SKURFTEMYTE
Aanwending, aanvanklike verdunning en versterking: Sien gebruiksaanwysings vir bosluise.
Vir effektiewe beheer, spuit weekliks.

iii. LUISE
Aanwending, aanvanklike verdunning en versterking: Sien gebruiksaanwysings vir bosluise.
Vir effektiewe beheer, spuit twee keer met ’n tussenpose van 7 dae.

SKAPE

i. SKAAPBRANDSIEKTEMYTE
Nota: As ‘n uitbreking van brandsiekte behandel word is dit noodsaaklik:
Dat al die skape op die plaas korrek behandel word en na die behandeling gemerk word.
Dat al die diere na behandeling binne 7 tot 10 dae geïnspekteer word en enige ongemerkte diere moet behandel word.
Skaapbrandsiekte is ’n aanmeldbare siektetoestand, kontak die Staatsveearts.
Aanwending – Alleenlik vir die gebruik in dompeldipbakke en konstante aanvullingstorte.
Aanvanklike vermenging -1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 250 ℓ water.
Aanvulling – Omrede hierdie dipmengsel stroop, moet dit aangevul word sodra die aanvanklike volume met 20 % verminder het. Vul aan met 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% vir elke 250 ℓ water bygevoeg.
Die skaap moet lank genoeg gedip word om te verseker dat die dier deurnat is en dat die kop ten minste 3 maal onderdompel was.
Slegs ‘n eenmalige behandeling is nodig vir die behandeling van skaapbrandsiektemyte.

ii. SKAAPLUISE, JEUKMYTE EN SKAAPLUISVLIEë
Nota:
Vir effektiewe beheer van luise by ‘n besmette trop skape, moet al die skape op die plaas behandel word.
Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% kan 60 dae voor skeerdery gebruik word. Dit het ‘n 35 tot 45 dae degraderingsperiode en enige residue in wol is daarna nie van belang nie.
Aanwending – Alleenlik vir die gebruik in dompeldipbakke en konstante aanvullingstorte.
Aanvanklike verdunning -1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ water.
Aanvulling – Omrede hierdie dipmengsel stroop, moet dit aangevul word sodra die aanvanklike volume met 25 % verminder het. Vul aan met 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% vir elke 500 ℓ water bygevoeg.
Twee dipsessies, 14 dae uitmekaar, is nodig vir die behandeling van skaapluise, jeukmyte en skaapluisvlieë.
Voorkoming van klontwol
Voeg 1 kg sinksulfaat kristalle by 400 ℓ dipmengsel.

VOLSTRUISE
Aanwending – Sproeiformulasie.
Verdunning – 1 deel Coopers Triatix^® Cattle 12,5% met 1 000 dele water.

Bespuit voëls totdat dipmengsel afloop. Gebruik ten minste 5 ℓ van die verdunde dipmengsel per voël.

BOKKE

i.  BOKSKURFTEMYTE
Aanwending – Alleenlik vir die gebruik in dompeldipbakke en konstante aanvullingstorte.
Aanvanklike verdunning -1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 250 ℓ water.
Aanvulling – Omrede hierdie dipmengsel stroop, moet dit aangevul word sodra die aanvanklike volume met 20 % verminder het. Vul aan met 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% vir elke 250 ℓ water bygevoeg.
Slegs ‘n eenmalige behandeling is nodig vir die behandeling van bokskurftemyte.

ii.  BOKLUISE
Aanwending – Alleenlik vir die gebruik in dompeldipbakke en konstante aanvullingstorte.
Aanvanklike verdunning -1 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% per 500 ℓ water.
Aanvulling – Omrede hierdie dipmengsel stroop, moet dit aangevul word sodra die aanvanklike volume met 25 % verminder het. Vul aan met 1,5 ℓ Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% vir elke 500 ℓ water bygevoeg.
Twee dipsessies, 14 dae uitmekaar, is nodig vir die behandeling van bokluise.

iii.  Vir die uitroeiing en beheer van Rooiluise op bokke, kan Coopers Triatix^® 12,5% tegelykertyd (in dipbak vermenging) met Fleececare^® (G1743 Wet 36/1947, Namibië 93/18.3.8/515 NS0) as ‘n eenmalige behandeling gebruik word. Die volgende verdunningstabel moet gebruik word:
